Our Health Philosophy

Health is the state of optimal physical , mental and social function, and not merely the absence of disease. The human body is created and designed to be healthy. It is self-regulating and self-healing. The physicians job is to locate and remove / reduce all factors interfering with the body’s’ normal ability to heal itself. Doctors do not heal. The body heals itself. Illness, body malfunction, or pain results when we are exposed to more stress(es) than we can handle. These stresses come in a variety of forms and include … physical stress, poor posture, trauma, falls, repetitive motions, nutritional / dietary, emotional / mental, thermal and many others. The nervous system controls and directs all body functions. Excess stress causes the vertebral subluxation complex which then causes direct interference in nervous system control of body functions. Malfunction is the result. Prolonged malfunction causes disease processes to develop. As disease develops our body will warn us with symptoms. Symptoms are the last stage of body malfunction. Vertebral subluxation refers to an area of abnormal motion or lack of motion in a segment of the spine that causes abnormal stimulation of the nervous system.

Doctors of Chiropractic are the only experts in locating and reducing spinal subluxations. Chiropractic is that science and art which utilizes the inherent recuperative powers of the body, and deals with the relationship between the nervous system and the spinal column, and the role of this relationship in the restoration and maintenance of health.

Subluxation

The Chiropractic subluxation complex is an alteration of the biomechanical and neurophysiological dynamics of the contiguous spinal and paraspinal structures, which causes neuronal disturbances. (It’s a kink in your spine that irritates the nerves)

Chiropractic is a discipline in the area of health that focuses on the innate recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgeries. Chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health.

In addition, Doctors of Chiropractic recognize the value and responsibility of working in cooperation with other health professionals when this is in the best interest of the patient.
