Below are a few of the most common questions we receive related to everything from chiropractic care, to insurance. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. We would love to make sure your chiropractic experience is a great one.
Yes. You have a 100 times greater chance of an adverse reaction by taking a single dose of aspirin than you do with a Chiropractic adjustment. In fact, a comprehensive inquire by the government of New Zealand found Chiropractic “remarkably safe” and that Chiropractors have on the whole “an impressive safety record”. The study went on to conclude “our finding is that there is no unusual degree of risk to patients who undertake Chiropractic treatment”.
Chiropractic care allows you to avoid risky surgery, dangerous drugs and medical procedures.
No. How long you benefit from Chiropractic care is entirely up to you. We let our patients decide how much care to receive. Many patients choose to continue receiving some amount of care even after they feel relief of their symptoms because they feel so much better, stronger and happier with regular checkups and adjustments.
No, they shouldn’t. Depending on the level of inflammation, muscle spasm, etc. you may occasionally feel symptoms like you might expect after doing a new exercise. Our desire is to accomplish the spinal adjustment comfortably. Most people find our techniques pleasurable. We choose techniques that are appropriate for each patient. A two week old infant, a professional athlete and an 85 year old frail granny all require individualized and appropriate techniques.
I don’t know. Everyone is different. Some people feel almost instantaneous relief. Others may take days, weeks or even months. if they have a long-standing chronic condition. Many factors influence rate of response such as chronicity, previous surgeries, smoking, poor diet / nutrition, re-injury, use of drugs, etc.
Yes. We will avoid direct manipulation of the area of surgery and work around it. Many of our patients have already had spinal surgeries, some have had several.
It is certainly helpfully when an insurance policy or third party helps pay the bill. Be careful that you do not allow a huge profit motivated corporation to determine how you take care of yourself. Few things are more valuable to you than your health. We’ll do everything we can to keep our fees affordable. In fact our fees are set with the uninsured and underinsured in mind. You’ll find our fees much lower than medical care. We also accept cash, checks, MasterCard, Visa, or Discover.
No. Dispensing drugs is not what we do. Ice, when properly applied, is an effective pain reliever
No. Our care plans and adjustments are unique to each patient and often vary from visit to visit depending on our findings that particular day.
